the Network Marketing Industry Simple Prospecting
Strategies
Everyone in the network marketing industry is searching
for simple prospecting strategies. Theres a
wide variety of recruiting methods, but most overlook
the simple art of listening.
Think
about the times youve recently talked with
friends, co-workers and family members. Did notice
the other person lose concentration during the conversation?
Did he or she then say something that seemed like
it came from left field. Your confused for a moment,
then you realize that what the person said connected
to something you said much earlier in the conversation.
Or
maybe youve been on the other side of the
situation. As someone says something to you, it
reminds you of something else. You immediately start
thinking of a way to tell the other person about
it in a way that applies to the conversation. Unfortunately,
while youre getting your response in order,
you cant pay attention to what the other person
is saying.
This
cheapens the discussion and treats the other person
with disrespect even if they dont realize
it.
In
network marketing, the situation is often even worse.
Distributors of mlm companies who try to recruit
anyone who breathes are constantly focused on finding
a way to work their business opportunity
into the discussion. The other person can say most
anything that instantly turns them into a prospect.
Aggressive
network marketers are looking for any excuse to
turn their cold market into a warm
market. They get pushy and before you know
it, theyre spouting off with everything they
know about compensation plans, duplication, genealogy,
lead generation, replicated websites, products and
everything else.
Objections
immediately pop into the prospects brain.
He or she might think about scams or pyramid schemes.
Youll come across as some heavy hitter or
guru who only see them as a way to line their pockets.
In short, theyre not a prospect for long.
People are not stupid, and anyone who's read John
Milton Fogg, author of The Worlds Greatest
Networker, knows that it's often a terrible
MLM sales pitch to come across in this fashion.
The
better strategy is to focus on the other person
and to truly listen to what they say. Understand
that what theyre saying is important to them,
and they believe that it should be important to
you, too.
They
dont want to hear your presentation about
residual income or anything else until youve
shown that youre a leader who cares.
You
show them by listening on a deep level. You ask
questions rather than offering advice.
How
do you know what question to ask? You listen to
them.
Get
to the heart of the other persons dreams.
Find out their true desires. Find out where their
passions are and talk about those.
Then,
and only then, will you know if your home-based
opportunity in the network marketing industry will
meet their needs.
